Umoja is Swahili for “solidarity”. Grown in the South Kivu Province of Congo, this coffee represents the hard work of the Congolese people. By working with Congolese coffee farmers we are helping provide stability in the coffee sector in a region that is often fraught with coffee smuggling. For many of the people in the South Kivu Province, coffee is a key source of income and helps promote rights for marginalized groups.
Our Congo Umoja is a tremendous light roast with a surprisingly rich, full body and notes of lime, chocolate, and blackberry jam. This coffee has a fruity aroma and the complex flavor profile develops wonderfully as the cup cools.
